Food production
With 800+ active food producers, the Chelyabinsk Region is the national leader of the industry development. It is also the leading exporter of agricultural products and food in the Ural Federal District, as its exports equals the total exports of the remaining regions of the District. As of the end of 2021, agricultural exports from the Chelyabinsk region amounted to $ 194 million. The biggest importers of the regional products are the SCO countries – Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan. Chelyabinsk exports also have a higher added value than the national average (the average price per ton of exported products is 848.8 USD, the average price over the Russian Federation is 381.5 USD).
